Privacy notice
What we collect when you use this site or apply for funding, what we do with it, who sees it, and how to ask us about it. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
When you apply
- About the business: its name, address, EIN, legal structure, what it does, when it opened, monthly revenue, how much you are looking for, what it is for, when you need it, and whether anything is still outstanding.
- About the owner: your name, home address, date of birth, Social Security Number, share of ownership, credit score range, phone number and email address.
- Bank statements: the PDF business bank statements you upload.
- Your signature on the application, and the date and time you signed.
- Activity on the application: the internet address (IP address) your device used, and when the application was opened, saved, signed and had files added. This is kept with the application.
When you browse this site
The pages on this site set no cookies and run no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs (the address requested, the time, the IP address and browser type), as every web host does.
Where it comes from
Almost all of it comes from you, typed into the application or uploaded to it. If a member of our team started an application on your behalf after a conversation with you, the details they entered are treated the same way.
What we use it for
- To assess whether we can arrange funding for the business, and how much.
- To confirm who the owner is, which banking rules require before funding can be arranged.
- To arrange the funding: to put the application in front of the funding partner or partners it fits, and to take their offer back to you.
- To contact you about this application by phone, text message and email. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.
- To prevent fraud and to keep the application secure.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations, and to keep the records those require.
We do not sell applicant data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The person handling your file at Mountain Finance.
- Funding partners considering the application. They receive the application and the statements so they can decide whether to make an offer, and they handle that information under their own privacy notices.
- Service providers that host, store, secure and deliver the application on our behalf. They act on our instructions and do not use the information for their own purposes.
- Anyone the law requires, such as a regulator or a court, where we are obliged to.
Third-party services on the application
The application uses two outside services, and each one sees your IP address and browser details when it loads:
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which confirms a person rather than a program is submitting the form.
- Google address lookup, which suggests addresses as you type them. Only what you type into the address field goes to Google.
This site's pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, which also sees the request for the font files.
How it is kept
Everything you enter is encrypted in transit and at rest, including the statements you upload and your signature. Access is limited to the people who need it to do the things listed above.
The application saves your progress in your own browser so that you can close it and come back. That copy lives on your device and you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
How long we keep it
For as long as the application is being considered, for as long as any funding arranged from it is in place, and afterwards for as long as the law and our funding partners' rules require us to keep records. When none of those apply any more, it is deleted.
Your choices
- You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
- You do not have to give us any of the information above, but without it we cannot assess an application.

Changes to this notice
If it changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date. Anything that changes what we do with information already given to us will be explained at the top of the page.
